Hi! Is the sofa still available, and can I view it tomorrow?

What you can list

The piece taking up your space is someone else’s upgrade.

Start with items that are structurally sound and honestly described, whatever their cosmetic wear.

Seating

Sofas, armchairs, dining chairs and benches.

Tables

Dining, coffee, study and side tables.

Beds

Frames, headboards and bedroom sets.

Storage

Wardrobes, shelving, cabinets and drawers.

Category-specific guidance

Answer the transport question before it is asked.

Most furniture conversations stall on measurements and collection. Put both in the listing and you skip the back-and-forth.

A strong furniture listing includes

Buyer-ready
  1. 1
    Exact width, depth and height

Buyers are measuring a doorway, a stairwell and a room before they reply.

  2. 2
    Material and frame condition

Name the wood, fabric or metal, and say whether joints are solid.

  3. 3
    Honest close-ups of wear

Photograph scratches, stains and sagging rather than shooting around them.

  4. 4
    Collection terms

State the floor level, lift or stair access, and whether it dismantles.

Simple from the start

How to sell used furniture online in Kenya

Step 01

Show the whole piece

Clean the furniture and photograph it in daylight from the front, sides and back. Include wider shots that show its shape and close-ups of the upholstery, joints, handles, surfaces, scratches, stains or repairs. Make the photographs honest enough for buyers to assess its condition before viewing.

Step 02

Add measurements and logistics

State the furniture type, material, colour, exact dimensions and current condition. Mention repairs, removable parts and anything included in the sale. Add your location, asking price and whether the buyer must collect or can arrange delivery. These details determine whether the piece will fit and be transportable.

Step 03

Arrange viewing and collection

Answer questions through Juuhudi and confirm dimensions, access requirements and collection arrangements before scheduling a viewing. Let the buyer inspect the furniture, agree on the final price and confirm cleared payment before releasing it. Plan lifting and transport in advance, especially for large or heavy pieces.

Selling before a move

List it before the deadline, not on the day.

Furniture sells to whoever can arrange transport in time. A listing that goes up a week before you move gets a considered price; one that goes up the night before gets whatever is offered.

  • ✓Give yourself at least a week before the collection date.
  • ✓Say clearly whether the buyer must bring help.
  • ✓Group a room’s pieces so one buyer can take several.

How much does it cost to list furniture on Juuhudi?

Get started for free. Juuhudi takes no commission from the price you agree with your buyer. Full details are on the pricing page.

What details should I include in a furniture listing?

Include the furniture type, material, colour, exact dimensions, age, condition, repair history, whether it dismantles, your location and who arranges collection.

Can buyers see my phone number?

No. Buyers contact you through Juuhudi messages, so you can answer questions and decide when or whether to share contact details.

Who arranges transport for large furniture?

There is no universal rule, so state it in the listing. Agree before payment who organises and pays for dismantling, carrying, loading and delivery.

Is worn furniture still worth listing?

Yes, provided it is structurally sound and you show the wear honestly. Buyers filter on price and condition together, and a scratched but solid piece finds someone.
